Stretching your neck can be possibly one of the best things you can do to look after yourself, especially if you suffer headaches and/or migraines.

It is equally as important to activate the weak areas of the neck if you are chasing lasting relief in this area than just doing the self care and stretch routines. Take a look here at how best to benefit you!

Self Care

So you've been experiencing neck pain or maybe even headaches for a little while now and are wanting to aim for permenant fix! You've come to the right spot. Points to remember with self care:

  • Work to your own pain scales. Ease on and off as YOU see fit. This is your chance to take ownership of your body and how it moves. 
  • When you hit that main trigger point, try and hold it until drops to a 3 or 4 out of 10.

  • Sternocliedomastoid

Stretch

Some of our favourite neck stretches here in this series. Stretching in the neck can help facilitate blood pressure / circulation changes and provide lymphatic and neural freedom so it's important to look at the neck locally as it can create pathologies both locally, down the spine and into the extremities if not cared for properly. 

This series includes: 

  • Deep Flexors
  • Trapezius
  • Splenius Capitis
  • Sternocleidomastoid
  • Levator Scapula

Activation

In this series we aim to help you activate those deep neck flexors that often grow weak and tired particularly if you sit at a computer, look down for a living or spend alot of time on a phone or tablet.
